360 imagery first worked with British Land some years ago, when the then Managing Director of British Land London Estates commissioned us after being very impressed with virtual tour technology and what we could offer in this area. We have since done a number of jobs for the client, and obviously both the technology and also what we offer has advanced during this time.
It’s a fantastic ‘pat on the back’ when we get such a big-name client coming back with repeat work for us – means we’re getting it right! And as property development and investment companies go, it doesn’t get much bigger than British Land Company plc, which is one of the largest in the United Kingdom. As of March 2015, the company owned a portfolio valued at £12.6 billion. Obviously, a company as prestigious as this needs only the very best when it comes to 360 virtual tours and marketing technologies……….enter 360imagery!
The building, 201 Bishopsgate, is part of the Broadgate Estate and is one of the largest developments in London over several decades. It is situated in the high-profile corner position at the gateway between the City of London and Shoreditch district. The stunning architecture sees the Broadgate Tower rising up, as 201 Bishopsgate’s curved form sweeps impressively around the junction of Primrose Street and Bishopsgate. We begin our tour with an opening mast shot, taken from 8m high. This lifts the eye of the viewer over and above any street furniture, parked cars etc. and gives a fantastic ‘WOW’ opening scene of the building frontal. As is standard with all of our work, the high-resolution imagery is all photographed using high dynamic range technique – this means the picture is evened out, no blown out/over exposed windows and the viewer can zoom right in with no pixilation (image distortion). The opening scene also features several annotations giving useful information such as local transport links etc. making it a very interactive experience for the viewer.
